Our chocolate cake recipe unveiled...

by Los Clavos 17 juin 2017
Nicaragua is a tropical country that produces cacao, but not a lot of chocolate. Therefore chocolate is virtually absent from Nicaraguan cuisine. However, being French and knowing our guests would apprciate a tasty chocolate cake after surf or yoga, I brought back from Paris my favorite chocolate cake recipe that everybody loves.

Chocolate cake recipe

Our English or American readers will excuse me for I will give the recipe the French way per grams and ° C...

Ingredients for 6 to 8 persons
- 250 gr black chocolate
- 100 gr butter
- 200 gr granulated sugar
- 6 eggs
- 50 gr wheat flour

Preheat the hoven to 200° C. Butter the cake pan
Melt the chocolate and the butter. Stir until you get a smooth and well combined mixture.
Add suggar and stir.
Separate eggs, add egg yolk into the mixture and stir.
Beat the egg whites into a firm peak with a pinch of salt. Gently fold half of the egg whites into the chocolate mixture (always from bottom to top). Fold the second half, add the flour and stir.
Lower the hoven to 180°C and bake 20 to 25 min depending on your taste.

Tip: you can drink a glass of sweet white wine with it, the delicious french Quarts-de-Chaumes will taste delicious...

You may will have to adjust the recipe to your hoven or the quality of the ingredients in your country. For exemple I only use 75 gr of butter in Nicaragua as I noticed it is more "greasy" here than in France. Or the chocolate in your country might not melt as easily so you'll have to add some water to obtain the well comined melt mixture...

Anyway, I whish you good luck and bon appétit!
