Where to surf mellow waves for beginners in North Nicaragua ?

Only 5 min walk form our camp, the 12 mile long LOS CLAVOS sandy beach that stretches to the North offers the best conditions for beginners to catch their first green waves in North Nicaragua. Gentle waves, easy to read and anticipate, space for everyone: you will feel perfectly safe and confident to do your first pop-ups.

Another option nearby for beginners is APOSENTILLO beach: sandy bottom and small waves on a regular basis.

Where to surf intermediate, spots in North Nicaragua ?

NAHUALAPA is a beautiful bay with nice lefts and rights, surfed by intermediate and advanced surfers. It is only 10min walk from Los Clavos Surf Camp and is one of our sure bets.

La izquierda de SANTA-MARIA (Santa-Maria’s left) is also one of best morning session spot; a very long left that can become quite fast sometimes.

RIGHT IN FRONT of Los Clavos Surf Camp, a nice long left picks-up when the swell is good. We are the only ones surfing this spot, it is my favorite sunset playground !

Where DO advanced surfers SURF in North Nicaragua ?

For even more adrenalin and more fun you’ll definitely check out THE BOOM. Barelling down this fast and shallow shore-break of North Nicaragua you will feel like in South of France…without the wetsuit ! ONLY FOR EXPERIENCED SURFERS :-)

Up North from Los Clavos Surf Camp, the breaks around JIQUILILLO also offers the perfect playground for advanced surfers when swell picks up. It is located 6 km north of Los Clavos surf Camp. We go there by boat or truck.

Where to do SURF boat trips in North Nicaragua ?

Want some more waves? We take you on a surf boat trip (organized on demand) and go sp North on a rivermouth or one of the 3 other spots only accessible by boat. These half-day trips are one of our favorite activities here; jumping from the boat in the middle of the ocean, makes you feel completly free!
